Why Are Most Designers Asian or White

Are most mainstream popular fashion designers Asian and White? I have not noticed any top fashion designers in the fashion industry to be African American. Most of your favorite designer clothes are by white Caucasian males,females, or Asian Designers. Ralph Lauren, Anna Sui, Tommy Hilfiger, Polo, and many others dominate the world of fashion without question. Are there any black top notch main stream fashion designers who are not in the hip hop culture that is glorified among his or her white or Caucasian counter parts?

Macy's is a place that houses most of the mainstream clothes you see on radio and TV. I have never seen any black fashion designers that were the prefered choice when it came to clothes, purses, or perfume.
