As most of you know Tiger Woods has been caught with his pants down for cheating on his wife. The question that I want to ask you men and women is if you could do it without getting caught,and sleep with whom ever you choose would you do it ? Well, the truth is I think most people would dabble into other folks bedrooms for the short term sexual relationship, if they couldn't get caught. We live in a society today where there are so many beautiful people that ones eyes will always tend to wander if looked at closely.

Many of our so called heroes athletes mainly have been getting caught with other women. For example, Kobe got caught with the girl from the hotel, Michael Jordan's wife had a private investigator follow him other women's homes, and R.Kelly slept around with other women while he was married,James Worthy of the Lakers wife wrote a book on the subject, and now its Tigers turn to be on the chopping black. As the news broke about Tiger many people laughed at this guy, because he should of known better than to get caught, but in the end whats in the dark always comes to the light.

If you were making fifty or so million dollars a year how would you handle the lifestyle of having men or women at your beck and call willing to wait on you hand and foot,due sexual favors for you in any position possible to the naked eye, or leave their family for the hopes of easy fame and fortune. What is it that makes a man who has the whole world in his hand still want to cheat on his spouse? That is a question I can't answer until I get a million dollars so the mystery will remain in my mind like it is in yours. A Pyschologist stated "that there are alot more people in the world today than say thirty years ago, and people have more choices options to fill their fantasy." When a person has more choices to do with whom what he wants then this can lead to a I can do it and not get caught mentality within a relationship which leads to cheating.

Is marriage really worth it anymore? It seems like so many peoplen get married and within two years they are in a divorce. So, the question that I pose to you again is if you where worth a billion dollars like Tiger Woods and you could get away with cheating on your love one would you do it?

Does Real Hip Hop Exist

I often hear the term real hip hop come from the mouths of people in the street. I had to ask myself what does the term real hip hop mean? As we look at the over all hip hop culture, we have to ask what has happen to black music. I often wonder has the pop culture of Mc's sold out to white America and the corporations at large. Many people wonder what has happen to black music on every level not just hip hop i.e. (Jazz, R&B, Gospel etc.) No longer due artist put a message in the music that will left up the masses of people of color, the ones most affected by oppression of slavery.

Today hip hop music is saturated with bubble gum artist who are more interested in making money, then using the music to solve problems in the community. As I often look at TV programs like MTV and BET, I am embarrassed at the number of folks that act like clowns in order gain their fame and acceptance inside the industry. What is real hip hop that is the question? I think many people equate this term with giving something of real substance and not the tap dancing, bubble gum watered down music that we see on TV. Real hip hop in most cases doesn't exist, because the corporations control the image we see on TV. I wonder can anyone say what real hip hop is anymore.

A lot of artist soled out to gain corporate incentives from record companies. Many artists are getting more money and fame for selling their souls. Artist who had intentions of doing good in the hood got blocked by other artist, executives, A&R, and others in power who were not in favor of helping the black community raise to a better level of living etc. So the real question is who is at fault for the state of hip hop, and todays out put of black music. Is it the artist or the corporation?

How Valuable Are You

I was watching a video on You Tube by a music industry professional. The industry professional has created a number of videos on getting signed etc. While watching the videos he clearly laid out the real reason for artist not being sought after inside the music business. He stated that most artist don’t have value. How valuable are you to the music industry is a thought provoking video that makes one take a good look at you and the work you are doing inside the business. He questionnaires allowed you rate and asses your value taking a test. For example, are you easy to work with, are you able to work under time constraints, and attitude etc. The questions were a great overview of ones self and it allowed you to see your perceived value to others.

The question is how valuable are you to the music industry and do you have a brand that will draw money on your name alone. The gentlemen on the video spoke about how record companies look at there bottom line to see which artist have value to the company, and are you making money for them which indicates you are a keeper on the roster. I think if the truth was told the only thing no one really cares about is your talent until you can make money for someone else and that’s the real truth. Value is the term and branding is the process that will allow you to ask for what your worth and get paid what you deserve. Attention all “artist” ask yourself what is your value to the Music Industry. If you can't answer that question then you are not valuable to anyone but you.

Does Twitter and Sex Mix ??

I was presented the other day with a question about social media by a friend. The question was asked does twitter and sex mix, and I had to reply by saying I'm not sure but I'm sure it could. Many peoples relationships are being affected by using sites like Twitter and Facebook. A lot of folks in serious relationships are having problems, because there better half is online engaging in conversation wit someone who meets their dreams and needs of what a man or a women should look like. I know myself I have meet someone off of a social media website and that lead to us having sex. Twitter is the new social media power house along with FaceBook and their are a lot of freaks lurking online and waiting to take your man or women.

The real question is can you be in a healthy relationship wit someone who like to be online meeting new people? Twitter and sex is the topic I choose this topic to gain an understanding of how does on meet someone online and maintain a healthy relationship at home or can it even be possible. Relationship are in peril due to the social media empires of today. Their are many people who are finding steady conversation wit someone online who looks,taste, smells, and feel the way they think a person should feel.

Online dating is new for the forty and over generation, but for a younger generation it is common to meet people online and begin to form a relationship that might seem to be healthy.

Does Twitter and Sex mix or don't mix that is the question ? Maybe it does and the folks who are already in a serious relationship needs to figure out how to make it work together so it doesn't effect the relationship. There are a lot of insecure men and women who have a huge problem with their boyfriend and girlfriend being online and socializing with new people. I was in a relationship similar to this in the past where my ex-girlfriend would get upset, because I was always online and had a conversation with a pretty girl. Now I'm in the entertainment industry so it requires me to meet new faces and keep up with the socializing game. She had a bit of insecurity about me being online and one day it had an adverse effect on the relationship when I was lured into a friends request on a Myspace page by a half naked attractive girl.


The story went something like this I got a friends request from a girl she was real sexy you know the type just some panties on and nothing else. So, of coarse I had to accept the friends request, now was it my lusting over her body that got me in trouble or was it just that I should of never accepted the friends request in the first place? To make a long story short my girl ended up finding out about the online girl, and got really upset about it which lead to us breaking up.I personally thought it was a little silly, but she really took it to another level and we ended going are sepearte ways.

Stop Tripping on VJays Dee Jays Authors Book Publishers and Radio Personalities

I had an interesting discussion with a women out of Knoxville Tn. who after yesterdays "I DO Music" seminar she seem to be a tid bit shy about leaving her press kit and bio, because the panelist stated their was a right and wrong way to approach them. One of he panelist made it clear their was a certain way to approach them when leaving music. She also stated that "she wouldn't listen to your music unless she had a relationship with you." In order for a artist to get her to listen to their music you would have to build a relationship with her. I say Fuck them and stop doing things the conventional way. Drop your music on them, introduce yourself, thank them for their time and keep it moving. You have to remember as an artist you are dealing with "Right Brained" (information and processing side of the brain) people. As an artist you operate on the left side of the brain. So, when you want to discuss music, arts, and fashion etc. they would rather talk about seminars,talk shows, book publishing, motivational speaking, and quotes of the day, and financial numbers. You as an artist have to understand both sides of the brain in order to wage war on the V-Jays, Dee Jays, and Radio Personalities, authors, and book publishers.

You have to create a Brand that they will want to follow. I want you to take stock for a minute and think back about celebrity profiling, have you ever noticed that many of these same Right Brained individuals Gawk at celebrities or the creative folks? This is because to be creative is an exceptional gift that many people don't have.

The next time, you are at a music conference or seminar don't trip on the V-Jays, Dee Jays, Authors, Book Publishers,and Radio Personalities they can kiss your ass because your a brand that is ready to do business with like minded people. When you are at a industry event just give them your material make the connection, build the relationship,get their info.,and get the hell on.

Energy what is and how does it affect you and your art or business? Their is a certain thing as energy between two people, and you have to find the group of people who have to same type of energy you do. Dealing with business minded or Right Brained people may not click with the creative energy that you are giving off. Have you ever heard of the term Six Degrees of separation? Six Degrees of separation means you are six people away from the person you need to do business with. For example, I know Barack Obama, Obama knows Lil'John, Lil John knows Kate Hudson, Kate Hudson knows 50cent and 50cent knows Joe Blow Smoke whose uncle is in charge of operations at Live Nation. He heard about you through 50 and would like to talk to you about a business opportunity.After meeting with Joe Blow Smoke you now have a six figure touring dealing to help promote your brand as a artist, Many artist know this is the opportunity you need that will change your life from being nobody to some body. Your just one person away from getting where you want with your career.

The reality to this post, is that no one person has the key to your success its a combination of your hard work, networking, and building your brand that eventually leads to your success. So, the next time you go to a music conference or seminar and you approach a Right Brained individual don't kiss their ass just shake their hand, get their contact information, and leave your flyers, cd, and business cards etc. If the one person or group of people don't connect with you properly then Fuck'em and move on to the next situation.

New Music Industry Career

Every year hundreds of music business professionals lose their jobs. Some are laid off. Others are fired. The end result is the seasonal carnage that results in unemployment.

Many of those who are unceremoniously dismissed will encounter various obstacles in their search for new jobs such as age, race, and sex discrimination. Some will fair better than others due to their network of associates or nepotism. Some people will go on to become consultants. Others will start companies. Many if not most will leave the music industry altogether.

For those in the minority who really understand the business and see the big picture, they are faced with their most daunting task: re-inventing their jobs and finding ways to get paid doing it.

Enter Independent A&R into the equation.

Over the years, A&R (artist and repertoire) reps have been enigmatic figures that have been misrepresented and misunderstood because their roles vary so greatly from company to company. One fact is absolute: A&R reps employed by record companies act on behalf of the record company.

Historically, A&R reps would create songs for artists to record and perform. They were musicians and songwriters who helped find a home for goods songs with the appropriate artists, and they would also help artists get signed to labels that would be good homes to develop their careers in.

Then artists started writing their own songs. That's when the A&R professionals had to modify their job description. Now, it's industry consensus that A&R people do everything and nothing - often simultaneously. How can they? Or rather, how can they not? The artists that they endorse are often dropped in the blink of an eye when they don't generate enough revenue to make a profit for the label to which they are signed.

The argument of whether or not record companies will survive or become extinct like dinosaurs is tired and should be put to rest. Record companies - or companies functioning in a record company capacity -will always exist. What no longer can exist is prehistoric thinking (which is no doubt how dinosaurs used to think) that we take in our approach, as professionals, to doing business in the music industry.

We are now dealing with intangible commodities as our product in the music industry (music, which is an intellectual property, and talent, which is associated with brands). The new digital/wireless era that we live in allows us to strip away the fat (excess) and the BS (politics) that plague and undermine the business. What we will have left when the smoke clears are the very things that the music industry was founded on: music, talent, and entrepreneurship. This represents a golden opportunity for Independent A&R professionals.

Independent A&R professionals facilitate the commercial use of that music and talent as entrepreneurs. By facilitate I'm referring to the process of helping others find, and/or negotiate the use of, music and talent in any revenue generating capacity e.g. (licensing/performance/recording, etc.).

Most artists think of their success vertically, viewing it in terms of "levels" they are on, an Independent A&R professional looks at success horizontally; basing it on a multiplicity of income streams across multiple platforms.

For example, in representing my longtime client, producer Cori Jacobs, his core business is producing music. His productions have appeared in television shows and have been featured prominently in many films including Tupac's biopic, "Thug Angel" and most recently, Tyler Perry's "Why Did I Get Married." He is also a musical director for the likes of Lauryn Hill and Malcolm Jamal Warner (yes, as in Theo from the Cosby Show). In addition, he collaborates with numerous songwriters and performs with his band, Clear Soul.

Each transaction related to the use of his music and talent(s) entail a business activity that requires professional attention and handling. I handle these business activities. From interfacing with clients seeking his services as a producer, to people who want to utilize his talent as a musical director, to the negotiation of licensing his songs for use in film and television; I instigate and execute all of these details.

While Independent A&R is a multi-tasking occupation, and there is overlap (as there is in practically every occupation in the music industry), and you do get paid on a commission basis, you are only engaged to handle the resulting business activities stemming from the commercial use of of your clients' music and talents; not to do hand-holding or talent development.

Perhaps most importantly, Independent A&R has helped me to find a purposeful and relevant place in the music industry that fully utilizes the depth of my experience and the breadth of my knowledge. By helping artists maximize the use of their talents and generate revenue with their songs, I've filled a void and found a niche in the process. Independent A&R can do the same for you.

I had a conversation the other day with a friend and she was telling me about the movie premier going on this weekend. Barack Obama Presidental Inauguration

Today was the most historic day in history with the inauguration of our first black president in Washington D.C. Barack Obama took his oath of office today to start running the country as our first black president. Many people came from all over the country to watch this historic event. Vice president Joe Biden was also sworn in as vice president of the united states. This event was televised all over the world. Barack is seen as a global president that will help bring change to the U.S. and countries abroad.

Many leaders from the civil rights era smiled, cried, and rejoiced as the nations new president took office today. Many americans are now feeling a sense of hope with Barack Obama as president of the United States. I personally think this is a good time for the country to renew its faith and values on whats important.

George W. Bush said his farewells as our nations president when Obama took office on captiol hill. George Bush will retire to his Texas ranch and live out the rest of his retirement on the ranch in Texas. I think today's presidental inauguration will be one that will be remembered as the greatest event in history.

Jay Z & Beyonce Got Problems

Could there be trouble in the less than a year long marriage of Beyonce and Jay Z. According to one of MediaTakeOut.com's snitches, Beyonce has been living for the past week at New York's Rivington Hotel.

Why is this odd, you ask. Well because Beyonce and Jay Z share a lovely penthouse condo less than a mile away.

And it gets even more interesting. According to our snitch, Jay Z is NOT staying with her. The insider explained, "Jay Z is in [their] Tribeca [condo]. It's very odd. I can't say that there's problems, but I know that he HAS NOT been with her any night this week - and he's in New York."

50cent Says Gay Kayne Can Dress

A Video was released by 50cent calling Kayne West gay, but gave him props on how well he dresses. Many people in the hip hop community doesn't think Kayne is the best dresser on the planet. 50cent made the quote ,but from the looks of things and pictures being circulated the Queens rapper looks similar to Kayne in his dressing style. I guess money will do that for you. A lot of artist get a little cash and start wearing suites loosing the ghetto image to look more professional. I think these cats are all washed up and need to stop kissing ass so much. 50cent has his nerve of talking about Kayne, because he took a picture wit cut out sleeves and a tie wrapped around his neck wit the wind blowing. 50cent needs to watch himself before rumors start coming out on him.
