Skinny Jeans

Skinny Jeanz and a MicImage via Wikipedia The culture of hip hop has adopted a new style called skinny jeans. Skinny jeans are really popular among the youth. The question I got is who created the style that allowed young men to wear jeans that are so tight on their ass and thighs that they can't even pull up their pants. The fashion culture has pushed the boundaries with the skinny jeans craze. Is this a low key way of slipping femine qualities into men's fashion?

The Entertainment Strategy

Example of a balanced scorecard strategy map f...Image via Wikipedia
I was sitting here thinking what is the perfect strategy to gain immediate attention the entertainment industry. If you are a Model, Actor, Musician, and Designer trying to build in the industry what is the perfect strategy. If I tell yea I might have to kill yea..Lol naw I'm just playing, that is a question that really can't be answered because its different folks for different strokes.

What I think is the most important thing is are you creating a plan to help you move from the unknown to the Known inside the entertainment industry. For example, how many relevant contacts do you have and does that allow you access inside certain circles that most may not have access to. Also, how well do you market and promote your name inside the industry are people noticing what you're trying to do. The real key here is to Market Promote and Sale your self and the product so that it begins to bring you closer to your goal. Write down everything you need to do to get busy reaching your goal then do it. Action is the key to manifesting your goals.

Do Koreans Own Black Hair

Koreans Own Black Hair and Run The African American Hair Industry

Do the Koreans own black hair ? That is the question that many people have been asking for years in the African American black community. Its seems that every where you go you see the Koreans running the black hair care industry. They seem to sale the hoarse, and Indian hair that is catered to African American women. We don't own any part of the money that's being made inside this billion dollar business. Most black owned beauty salons have to go to the Koreans to get the hair they need to supply to their customers, or risk losing business. When you go into the black community it is a Korean hair supply story on every corner. I know cause I have bought Do Rags, wave brushes, and grease for my hair from their store.

The question still remains why does the Koreans own black hair, hair care products, and even run nail shops that don't benefit the black community? I think it is most disturbing to watch money being generated the community but the dollars go somewhere else.

Brand Building At Open Mics

Many Artist venture out into the city of Atlanta to become know in world of music mostly R&B and Hiphop. Atlanta music communities has showcase and open mics galore. Every year many artist set out to become known in their city as the guy or gal with hottest songs. Alot of artist have failed to learn how to brand build their name in their niche market or demographics. Branding at open mics take some carefull planning. As an artist myself I took into account that I didn't have any real amount of money to help build my brand in the city of Atlanta. I used a few simple strategies that you yourself can use as well to get you noticed in the big city. First thing you want to do is start out small, and find an area that you can work over and over again wether it be on stage or through promotions.

If you are using the stage as a promotional tool try to find a club that caters more toward showing talent like Apache Cafe rather than a being apart of a musical contest. Many open mic contest really don't allow one to see the true talent of an individual. You don't want to run away from a challenge, but its best when you can get a crowd thats there to see you perform not be in a contest. Building a brand takes time and staying consistent is important if you want to break the yolk inside the atlanta music community.

At you are at the bottom the only thing left is to raise like creme to the top. I myself who have been an avid networker has manage to build a strong brand due to getting myself to all the networking events in Atlanta. If you have some talent and you network like hell you can build yourself a nice brand and wiggle your way into doors that most can't get into.

How Valuable Are You

I was watching a video on You Tube by a music industry professional. The industry professional has created a number of videos on getting signed etc. While watching the videos he clearly laid out the real reason for artist not being sought after inside the music business. He stated that most artist don’t have value. How valuable are you to the music industry is a thought provoking video that makes one take a good look at you and the work you are doing inside the business. He questionnaires allowed you rate and asses your value taking a test. For example, are you easy to work with, are you able to work under time constraints, and attitude etc. The questions were a great overview of ones self and it allowed you to see your perceived value to others.

The question is how valuable are you to the music industry and do you have a brand that will draw money on your name alone. The gentlemen on the video spoke about how record companies look at there bottom line to see which artist have value to the company, and are you making money for them which indicates you are a keeper on the roster. I think if the truth was told the only thing no one really cares about is your talent until you can make money for someone else and that’s the real truth. Value is the term and branding is the process that will allow you to ask for what your worth and get paid what you deserve. Attention all “artist” ask yourself what is your value to the Music Industry. If you can't answer that question then you are not valuable to anyone but you.
